We have endured a display of pathetic customer service similar to the attitude of some banks we know recently from a webhosting provider.
Save your time and money we sincerely recommend avoiding MD Webhosting.
Our webmaster requested a refund for the remaining 7 months hosting from MD Webhosting which is totally unusable due to consistent unreliability.

Unfortunately MD Web Hosting will not be coerced into providing refunds. Our obligation to provide such a refund is based in the Fair Trading laws of Victoria. In my opinion we have not breached our statutory warranties as defined by this act; our obligation is limited in this instance to the resupply of service to correct the defects.
Please reply if you require further clarification on the issue or on Victorian consumer laws.

Dear MD Webhosting,
We are located in NSW and do not really care what Victorian state regulations are in relation to your companies excuse for substandard service.
We are also very well versed in consumer rights and if we were a consumer you would not have a very strong case.
You may notice actually that you are conversing with a business who has had a business hosting account with MD Webhosting. Considering that this is the manner in which MD Webhosting treat business customers we feel that average consumers are going to have very real problems and losses in dealing with WD Webhosting at all.
We do not care for a company that responds to a polite request for a refund of the cost of a proven substandard service with an advice to refer to your states consumer regulators law.
The service has been is totally unusable and there was no request for compensation for the large amount of lost time incurred in diagnosing that the issues were proven to be with the service provided by MD Webhosting.
Check our hosting account and folders, you will find that there is nothing left there at all. We have had no option other than to move away from the MD Webhosting Business V3 package due to the pathetic reliability and non existent support in fixing these hosting provider problems.
That’s fine, continue to hide behind regulation that you feel exempts you as an excuse for no support and substandard service.
MD Webhosting, you are not the only hosting provider we currently use. We currently have webhosting accounts and multiple websites hosted with 8 other hosting companies and NEVER find the need to call these companies with issues. Email support requests, which are rare, are answered promptly and to the point when required by these other companies.
We were testing MD Webhosting with this package to determine if your service was suitable for the additional hosting requirements we are planning.
Fellow Whirlpool readers, issues that have occurred repeatedly with MD Webhosting this year to date are as follows:
Static websites are regularly offline.
Database driven websites are regularly offline due to connection failures with MySql database.
While the above issue is occurring we are not even able to access our databases through PHPMyadmin to backup or export.
Website folders and files on a MD Webhosting server regularly revert to read only causing websites to malfunction and be inaccessible. This issue prevents site admins from altering permissions, uploading updates or modifying site content at all.
Response times from WD Webhosting are out to 5 days and then issues are not addressed in the slightest.
The read only issue support request ticket was answered with support emailing us the hosting account login user name and password! Duh we have that!
Access to domains registered through MD Webhosting is disabled and changes to DNS servers cannot be made. Response time to this ticket is in excess of 3 days while sites are offline for the entire time.
As I mentioned elsewhere do not consider MD Webhosting low pricing as a saving as the service will really cost you.
All our sites have been moved to a slightly more expensive Australian hosting provider and everything works fine and the biggest bonus is that pages load so much faster that there is simply no comparison.
MD Webhosting shove your service and your refund. Australian consumers and businesses deserve to know how bad you really are.
The lost refund money will be better spent warning others away from your products and services.
Hopefully this is warning enough to anyone considering the ElCheapo path!!
